How to make more money at your Garage Sale!
You are having a Yard Sale to make money & get rid of your junk right?
Attract more people & make more money by selling:
- Lemonade (or give it away for free to attract more people)
- Popsicles (especially if its a hot day)
- Bar-B-Q - Sell Hot Dogs & Burgers.
- Have a box of FREE stuff (advertise it & make sure you label the box "free stuff")
If you are going to do any of these tips make sure you advertise it in your advertising and your Garage Sale signs to let everyone know! This will help you get more traffic in return getting you a better chance to sell of all of your items.
When you are at a Garage Sale and have not found what you are looking for...Just ask for it.
For example lets say you are looking for Jewelry and you don't see any, ask them if they have any Jewelry in the house.
A lot of times the people holding the Rummage Sales get in the mode of selling, selling, selling so when you ask for it they usually go inside and out of their way to find it. Like they say you don't ask, you don't get, so make sure you ask!
Get what you want, don't limited yourself to only what you see.

Yard/ Garage Sales are a great opportunity to get rid of the old junk you don’t use anymore and make some extra money at the same time, it’s a win win, but you have to make sure you do it right! Here are a few tips to help you run a successful Yard/ Garage Sale:
- Get more people to come to your Yard Sale by offering FREE stuff, have a box labeled “FREE STUFF” and include small items for FREE. People love FREE stuff so this is a sure way to attract more traffic to your Sale!
- Make more money: In addition to selling your junk, sell Lemonade, Popsicles, Burgers, Hot Dogs, etc. This is a great way to attract more buyers and make some extra money as well.
- Organization: Organize everything neatly accordingly to the type of item. For example have an area for Electronics another area for Clothes, another area for Toys, etc. This makes it easier for the shoppers to find what there looking for quickly without becoming frustrated.
- Longer notice: Advertise your Garage Sale at leased 2 weeks in advance. The longer your ad is up the more people that will know about your Sale and the more people that will show up meaning a better chance of selling all your junk!
